At Ohel Sarah, we have plans to create a new centre specifically for our older members.
Many of our members are elderly and there is no old age day care centre specifically looking after disabled people.
For those with special needs, changes brought about with old age come on earlier and are often more pronounced. There is a further deterioration of their cognitive and motoric abilities.
We can see that they would hugely benefit from being in an environment more suited to their age and needs.
This is why we would like create a space specifically for our older members.
We have an ambitious plan to convert the terrace on the roof of our new Beit Batsheva building, to a covered area with suitable rooms for activities, therapies and employment. The elevator in the building reaches the roof which allows us to fully utilize this area.
Ohel Sarah has been operating for 40 years, and many of our current residents have been with us from the beginning. They are growing older and we want to be able to look after them to the same standard of love and care as they have received throughout their years at Ohel Sarah.
Many of our older residents have no family, leaving Ohel Sarah as their only home.
